Not too so great

So, I've been pretty inactive here on spark people for about the last 3 weeks. Things aren't going so great, honestly. I was doing amazingly well for that first month, I was motivated and excited. I watched the pounds drop off really quickly. Over the last 3 weeks though, I've fallen off track hardcore.

My mom had total knee replacement on both knees abouthreeweeks ago, she was in the hospital for a bit, and then in re-hab. She's finally back home with my dad, but I've been visiting alot, and of course that's cut into my excercise time significantly. My best friend is also getting married in a week and I'm the maid of honor.... the last couple of weeks have been crazy for me trying to plan showers, bachelorette party, etc., and of course I've been helping her try to get everything finished before the wedding. She's my work-out buddy, so this has not been good for either one of us.

I lost 14 pounds in that first month, and I was soooo proud. Over the last 3 weeks, I've gained 4 pounds of that back, and I'm devastated. I know I have no one to blame but myself. I haven't been excercising regularly, and I haven't been tracking my calories like I should, and Of course i haven't been eating the kinds of things I should either. It's so frustrating to see such great results and then see yourself flush those results down the drain. I'm trying really hard to get back into the swing of things, I just feel like I've kind of lost my momentum.... so be thinking happy thoughts for me and hoping that I can get back on track!

Weigh-in...week 4

Today was the official weigh in. I'm pretty excited to be able to say that I've lost another 5 pounds this week. So far, my total loss is almost 14 lbs. I figure that's pretty darn good for the first month. I would loved to have seen even more results, but I can't be greedy, lol. I really looking forward to dropping more pounds in the coming month! There's only 1 month until my best friend's wedding, I'd love to at least be up to 20 lbs lost by then.... so here we go. Fingers crossed!!

Cough Cough... I'm sick

So... I've been trying really hard to stay away from the scale except for my weekly weigh-in. But the temptation got me this morning. I've been sick all week with an upper respiratory infection and haven't made it to the gym a single time (which makes me feel even worse). I just knew for sure that I would gain or stay the same even though i've been staying on track with my calories. Well... guess what! I managed to lose almost a pound, so that makes me feel a little better. I'm starting to have more energy now and the cough has *almost* subsided, so Im thinking about trying to go to the Rush tonight for at least 30 minutes to walk on the treadmill or something. The lack of physical activity this week is KILLING me. So anyway, wish me luck!! Hope everyone is having a great week! It's almost the weekend!!!!

Sooo Frustrated

So today was the weekly weigh-in.... it didn't go so well.

All week I've busted my butt... I've been to the gym 6 days, I've stayed on track with my calories, I've eaten healthy foods, and I thought for sure I'd see at least a little loss. I was by no means expected another 7 lb loss, but maybe a pound or two... that's no unreasonable, right? Well, I step on the scale this morning only to find that I've actually gained a pound! WTF?!? I don't understand. How can I be working this hard and and not see any loss at all? Oh well... I guess this starts another week. It's time to start busting my butt even harder.

Dance, Dance, Dance

So, it's been a series of ups and downs for me this week. I'm proud to say that I'm slowly mastering the elliptical trainer. I hate that thing, but i'm getting to the point that I can use it for longer periods of time! Yay!! I'm not so proud to say that I had chicken tenders and fries for lunch...and I felt guilty for it immediately. I still maintained my calorie goal, but it just wasn't worth it. Oh well.. you live and learn, right? Sometimes it's just really hard to turn down your favorite foods... and I LOVE chicken tenders.

On an postive note, Suy and I went to a Zumba class at the gym tonight. It was incredibly fun... waaaayyy more fun than running on the treadmill, that's for sure. I found that even though I was sweating my ass off and every muscle in my legs burned, I really didn't think about it that much because we were having so much fun. I've always loved to dance ( I did Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern when I was younger, and of course I cheered as well) so it was really nice to get back into somoething really active like that.

On Thursday we're gonna check out the hip-hop dance class... that should be entertaining.

Anyway, here's to Wednesday..... we're halfway through the week already. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a few more pounds lost by Sunday's weigh in!!

Weigh-In... week 1

So, it's been a few days since I've posted anything, but fear not... I have not slacked in my routine. I've been to the gym every day since my last post. On Thursday, I even managed to squeeze in 95 minutes on the treadmill. I've been doing great staying on track with my calories. I have to say...SparkPeople.com is the best thing that ever happened to me. I LOVE that food tracker. I may never be able to stop tracking my food intake on that thing. I'm obsessive compulsive about it. But I've gotta say, I guess there are worse things to be OCD about. Anyway, I've now decided I want to lose 100 lbs, not 80. If I can manage to lose that much, I'll officially be the same size as Suzy is... and then I can steal all of her clothes (haha, j/k). Anyway... on to the exciting part.... I did my official weekly weigh-in this morning and I'm proud to say that I've lost 7 pounds. 7 pounds in one little week. I know that won't happen every week, but it's still motivating! So... here's to the beginning of week 2 for me. I hope everyone has a great week!!
